I was invited to witness the opening of a Kangen Water shop in Cebu, Lapu Lapu, on 8th August 2018 and to give a talk on Organic Kangen Ukon (turmeric) on 9th August 2018 at Lapu Lapu Education Centre. It was twenty years ago since I last went to The Philippines and this is my first trip to Cebu.  Feeling excited, as I am about to embark on a whole new adventure.

Reaching there

Cebu is a highly urbanized city in the region of Central Visayas, Philippines.  Formerly also known as Opon, the city was renamed to its present name in 1961.  I was pretty amazed at the newly built Mactan airport, having fast immigration checkout with  nice and clean wooden toilets.

Weather was warm and dry at 31 degree Celsius.  As with the rest of the big cities in The Philippines, traffic was terrible, jammed packed with cars and motorcycles all across the roads.  However, I wanted to let down all my walls and enjoy myself being in a new place, meeting new people and taking in all the amazing sights in Lapu Lapu.

The hotel

We checked-in to Bai hotel, a 4.5 Star hotel, 8km from Mactan Cebu International Airport.  The surroundings and interior of the hotel was impressive.   This hotel had everything. The enjoyed meals at the hotel’s restaurants, I especially loved the crispy pata (pork knuckle) for lunch. I particularly enjoyed the roof top bar and the Twilight bar. The bar gives a panoramic view of the city at night. In the mornings, the hotel’s breakfast counters provides a vast choice of dishes for you to choose from. The staffs were SUPER friendly, helpful, professional and efficient too!! The plus point of this hotel was the very comfortable bed. If you are a light sleeper like me, you would enjoy sleeping on this bed too.

Organic Kangen Ukon Talk

During my Ukon talk on 9th August 2018, we had a full house turn- up. We had a very attentive and enthusiastic  audience that participated actively when I was explaining about the difference between spring and autumn turmeric. The Spring Turmeric is packed with essential oil and minerals.  The essential oil builds a strong stomach, lowers blood pressure and  breaks down cholesterol.  On the other hand,  the Autumn Turmeric has got a higher percentage of curcumin, which prevents/eases hangovers and strengthens liver functions.  We are the ONLY COMPANY in the world that made the first organic turmeric soft gel from Kangen water!

On 10th August, we had to leave Cebu for Home-Sweet-Home. Packing our luggages with the famous Cebu 7D dried mangoes and Pili Nuts, we were ready to head back to Singapore.  It was a wonderful experience and great honour to be the guest speaker!
